Italy 1999: Postcard 1 - Flying to Venice

IN THE AIR MELB -> BANGKOK

I am on my way to Italy for 3 weeks for work. As I write this I am cruising along on the flying kangaroo at 920km/h and 35,000 feet according to the screen! I am still over Oz, and about to cross the coast between Darwin and Port Hedland. We have a 2 hour stop in Bangkok in another 5 hours and then on to Rome. Change at Rome for Alitalia domestic for the short flight to Venice.

I hope to get to do some touring on the couple of weekends that I have there. Perhaps a day in Venice, and a day in Florence. Also to the coast for a day if there is an interesting town not too far away.
